Residents Flock to Beef and Chicken Bazaar in Petogogan

Beef and chicken bazaar held at the courtyard of Petogogan Urban Village office, Kebayoran Baru Sub-district, South Jakarta was enthusiastically welcomed by the residents.

"... very helpful in meeting our meat needs for Eid,"

Haryani (45), a resident of RT 04/02, Petogogan Urban Village, said that the market was very beneficial for the community because the prices offered were much cheaper than the market prices.

Residents Appreciate Food Station's Cheap Bazaar

"The premium beef here is cheap, only Rp 120,000. In the most markets, the price has already touched Rp 150,000," she expressed, on Monday (3/17).

She hopes that meat bazaar can be held regularly in the future and offer more varieties of meat, such as beef brisket, and so on.

"If they add more varieties, it will be easier for us to process the meat later. However, this is already very good and very helpful in meeting our meat needs for Eid," she uttered.

Meanwhile, Petogogan Urban Village Head, Nina Permata, explained that the meat bazaar was organized by her office in collaboration with PT Berdikari, which specializes in fresh and processed meats.

Nina explained that the prices at the bazaar were quite cheap, below the market prices. For example, regular beef was Rp 105,000 per kilogram, premium beef Rp 120,000 per kilogram, sliced beef Rp 65,000 per 500 grams, and neckbone Rp 43,000 per kilogram.

"The chicken prices are also very affordable, with chicken carcass meat priced at only Rp 34,000 per kilogram," she shared.

Nina mentioned that the residents flocked to the meat bazaar due to information shared beforehand via WhatsApp group chats among neighborhood administrators, Instagram, and other social media platforms.

"This is certainly very beneficial and helps our residents get good-quality meat at an affordable price. Therefore, I have already suggested that similar bazaars to be held regularly," she stated.
